On this page, you will learn why Kopi Luwak, despite its bad reputation, is not inherently bad, unethical or unsustainable.
In fact, Kopi Luwak can be sourced and produced ethically and sustainably without harming the animals or even ever getting in contact with them.
The truth is that there are many farms in both rural (e.g. West Java) and tourist (e.g. Bali) areas of Indonesia where unethical & unsustainable farming practices are still present. Unfortunately, this is the very reason why Kopi Luwak has such a bad reputation.
We believe that it doesn't have to be this way.
Our mission is to assist rural farming communities in Indonesia in the three following ways.
Establish a healthier and more profitable balance between nature and the coffee farming business
Our goal is to work with rural farming communities and provide assistance by facilitating a means of selling and shipping their Kopi Luwak produce, not just domestically, but also to overseas markets such as Australia, Europe or the US. Currently, the vast majority of the Kopi Luwak produce is sold and consumed domestically. These farms earn a small fraction of the profit margin they could if they sold their coffee in overseas markets. For this reason, the farms in rural areas resort to unethical and unsustainable farming practices so that they can generate enough profit to support their local communities and families.
However, by helping the rural farming communities sell and ship their Kopi Luwak produce overseas, we are able to assist them in generating more sales with substantially larger profit margins. Supporting and creating financially stable farming communities play a crucial part in ensuring that ethical and sustainable practices are achieved. Banning Kopi Luwak production has precisely the opposite effect.

Many farming communities in Indonesia's rural areas rely purely on the production of the Kopi Luwak coffee. We cannot hope to achieve 'Environmental Sustainability' by taking away from them the only means of generating monetary support for themselves.
Instead, we need to support these farms in becoming financially independent so that they can afford education and incorporate technologically advanced and regenerative agriculture technologies.
Incentivise and facilitate a transition to sustainable and ethical forms of agriculture, namely the Kopi Luwak coffee farming.
Our hope is to generate and support sustainable growth in the local and rural communities. We also hope to educate the rest of the world on the importance of NOT banning rural farmers from the Kopi Luwak production to facilitate financial growth and independence. In the near future, we aim to provide education programs on Sustainability & Ethics, Sustainable Farming, Regenerative Agriculture, Business Growth, and other forms of support to incentivise and facilitate the much needed transition to sustainable and ethical farming!
